Tonight the Kansas City Chiefs will square off against the Green Bay Packers in their final preseason bout of 2014. (This means REAL football is a WEEK away). Andy Reid, as expected,
has gone on record as saying that most starters will not play. This game is about making final personell decisions and a final opportunity for position battle winners to become more clear. A lot of players on the fringe of the roster will have possibly their careers on the line…at least their current jobs.
Tyler Bray will start tonight’s action while trying to prove his mettle and worth as the immediate backup to Alex Smith. John Dorsey and Co. are very high on incumbent second-string QB,
Chase Daniel, but Tyler Bray and Aaron Murray will be given every opportunity tonight to unseat Daniel and his $3.4 million dollar 2014 cap hit. In my opinion Murray is safe from being cut after being a 5th round pick, which would make the competition almost directly between Chase Daniel and Tyler Bray.
Tonight will speak great volumes to the Chief’s depth, or lack of.
