The Kansas City Royals have gotten off to a great start in the 2015 Major League Baseball season.
Their 16-8 record has them a half game up of the Detroit Tigers in the American League Central Division. The keys to the Royals success is easy to see, score more runs than your opponent and play solid defense. The Royals have a +47 run differential against their opponents this season. That along with committing very few errors, the Royals have been very successful. The starting pitching has been less than stellar, however an exceptional bullpen has overcame the starter’s shortcomings. In fact, the Royals needed a spot starter Friday due to Edinson Volquez’s start being pushed back due to his suspension, manager Ned Yost put in relief pitcher Chris Young in the starting rotation. He went five innings of no hit baseball. That’s picking up the slack if you ask me.
The Royals have taken two of three against the Tigers this weekend and finish off the series with a 1:10 pm game today.
