(Game 1) White Sox 3, Orioles 2: Sale-ing Along

Chris Sale was in control for the White Sox, as he pitched 7 2/3 innings of shutout ball, allowed just 4 hits (all singles), struck out 12 a nd walked 0. He allowed only 1 runner past first base.

Zach Duke gave up a 2 out 2-run homer to Chris Davis (#11) in the 9th, but the O’s couldn’t do anymore, already down to their last out. Orioles Rookie Tyler Wilson made his first career start, he went 5 strong innings, until losing it in the 6th. Adam Eaton scored on Melky Cabrera’s RBI double and then Adam LaRoche doubled in Cabrera. Wilson got out srike

of the 6th, but Tommy Hunter allowed a run in the 9th and that run ended being the difference in the game. Davis’ 3rd HR in 2 games was of little consolation as Jake Petricka struck out Travis Snider for the last out to end it and pick up the Save for Chicago. The Orioles struck out 16 times against White Sox pitching. Game 2 would still follow.
